5 /5 Giles Robertson: Absolutely delicious! Beautiful tartare to start, accompanied by a crisp salad and cheese dumplings. The mushrooms and pickled chilli really made the dumplings sing. Highlight was definitely the devilled mackerel. Amazing flavour and a generous portion. The wine list is also great, with the orange and rose wines matching perfectly with delicious plum ripple ice-cream and grapefruit meringue pie.

5 /5 Mark Allen: We chose this place to celebrate Steph’s retirement on our trip to Hastings. What a gem! Went for the tasting menu and wine flight - a lovely range of dishes with great wine pairings. Our chef and server were friendly and kept the dishes coming at a perfect pace. We would definitely recommend this restaurant - it’s the best meal we’ve had in ages.

5 /5 Alice Howard: We came in on Wednesday evening for dinner, have been wanting to visit for ages! The food was amazing, the flavours were so interesting and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into the creation of each dish. The Hake was exquisite! And as for the Newcastle Soda bread with marmite butter… Just wow. All Paired with a lovely Bacchus. It’s so good to see restaurants that source all their ingredients from local suppliers… butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers. You can honestly taste the difference. The chef spent time talking to us about his food, answering our questions, they were both very friendly. We can’t wait for our second visit. Thanks guys.
