5 /5 Liam Oxford: Very good to visit, lots to read and see. We went on a open weekend, but believe its normally open by appointment only, so check before travelling. Its in the North car park, just past the main prison itself. Curator was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Id say you probably would need to allocate an hour or so to visit. Definitely glad I went.

5 /5 Daren Kenward: An interesting museum on the perimeter of Wandsworth Prison. Open unusually to the public today. Other times, you must contact the prison to arrange a visit. Maintained by a volunteer called Stuart, who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of the museum. Allow up to 1.5 hours.

4 /5 Philip Jones: Very interesting little museum run by one dedicated former Prison Officer. Normally only open by appointment as the guy is a volunteer but I went on an open day and the place was rammed, so probably a better experience to book an appointment as its a bit cramped for space on a busy day. Loads of great things in the collection. Inmates have included Oscar Wilde, The Krays, the Richardsons, Ronnie Biggs and the man who killed Martin Luther King. Please note the building is a small shed tucked to the right of the car park and is not part of the main prison building. This museum gets zero funding from anyone so be sure to pop a few coins in the donations tin and take some cash if you wish to buy the £5 book available on the history of the prison.

1 /5 January Maxwell1: I booked in advance and Stewart agreed to be here to open the museum at 1pm on Friday 2 May 2025. Not only did he not show up, but he didn’t cancel or postpone. He has not replied to my queries either. My companion and I travelled a long way to get here, and it was very costly. We’ve wasted a large portion of our day and we are very disappointed.
