Kapil Varshney Went to Raai in Basingstoke, and let me tell you… my inner Desi Dad was VERY impressed. And trust me, impressing a Desi Dad with restaurant food is harder than passing CA exams. First of all, the prices. Arre wah! Reasonable. Sensible. Pocket-friendly. For once I ate outside without calculating ‘yeh ghar pe bana lete toh…’ in my head. Now the food: • Pav Bhaji: Perfectly buttery. Spicy enough to wake your senses but not your ancestors. • Vada Pav: FINALLY, a vada pav that doesn’t taste like mashed potato pretending to be from Mumbai. This one had personality. • Masala Dosa: Crispy, golden, and made me temporarily forget I’m in Basingstoke and not wandering somewhere in South India looking for filter coffee. • Veg Thali: VALUE. FOR. MONEY. Portions so generous even my inner Gujarati approved. Everything tasted like it was made by someone who isn’t afraid of spices — God bless them. Service? Fast. No unnecessary attitude. No one hovering around waiting to snatch your plate the moment you take the last bite. Desi Dad approves. Overall: Good food, good quantity, good prices. If you’re in Basingstoke and want proper desi street-food vibes without taking out a loan, Raai is the place. Will I go again? Bilkul. Maybe I’ll even take the kids… if they behave.

Suraj Bagia Had such a good experience here, it wouldnt be right not to leave a review. The food was absolutely sensational and clearly crafted with a lot of care. I ordered two dishes and they were honestly some of the best I have had. The flavours were such a delicate and perfectly crafted blend, no doubt about the authenticity at all. The fresh naan was so soft and fluffy it was like tearing a piece off a cloud. Unlike a lot of naan, it remained soft even in the centre, where a lot of others become thin and crispy. ​Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. The staff offered exceptional hospitality. Their service was attentive and warm, and you could tell they took genuine pride in their incredible food. A complimentary dessert was the perfect touch that made me feel like a welcome guest and not a first time visitor. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Andrew Reed Such a fantastic restaurant, Sundar Rachana doesnt disappoint. Went with a large group of friends and ordered a large selection of dishes, it seemed like the food just didnt stop coming to the table, outstanding flavors, what I really loved was the flavor of the dishes and it not burning. Service was amazing, prompt courteous and very professional. Highly recommend SR. Cant wait to go back and enjoy another feast.

Victoria Buccellato Came for a date night, we ordered a sharing meat platter between 2. Personal favourite was the fillet steak and sirloin cut. The other 2 cuts not as nice, But that’s personal opinions. Came with two sides ( chips and mash for us. Delicious! ) Our waitress Amber, did a fantastic job. Thankyou for the lovely evening. Chris Cocek A historical must on the London pub list. The Mayflower launched from this area and descendants can check in here. History aside, the food and service were great. Ate on the patio during a cool winter day but very enjoyable. Inside was really cozy.

Stu My son ordered from here a few times & because it was such good quality and great value we have ordered many times since. Arrives hot, really tasty lovely, drivers would thoroughly recommend. Nice to go to a local small business & not use a chain. These guys have got it right *****
