3 /5 k2damen: I expected much better based on the reviews. The dumplings I got were good but the noodles were very average. I ordered the ‘tender beef’ noodles and the beef I got was not tender. It was dry and looked like quite cheap cuts.

5 /5 Andrew Wood: Needed a pre-theatre meal having failed to book a restaurant as we usually do. So glad I found this wonderful little noodle bar, it may well be our first option for show nights from now on! The food was all delicious and the main course portions are generous to say the least, even my wife’s broth-based noodle dish which was apparently “small” (you’d have to be extremely hungry to take on the large version!). The stone pot rice is amazing, love the veggies and egg on top, and the pot stays so hot that by the time you make your way to the bottom not only is the food still steaming but also the rice next to the bowl has crisped up like a perfectly cooked paella - sublime! The young lady serving was excellent - friendly and helpful, and there’s an open kitchen which is always reassuring. Well done Mi Rice, we will definitely be back!

5 /5 Ryan Stanikk: Just after I took this photo, the place filled up! This is a truly fantastic location for rice and noodle based dishes, made authentically. Ive always said that you can tell when international cuisine is being done right, if people from that culture frequently dine there, and Mi Rice is a perfect example of that. They are very happy to modify the meal I order, as Im on a specific diet, and its always served beautifully and with so much flavour. Despite being here for quite a long time, it probably still counts as a hidden gem in Southampton, but its truly a must-eat place!
