5 /5 Ishan Issadeen: We were a group of 4 that visited on a Saturday evening. It is a cosy and dimly lit venue and we were allocated one of the 4 seater booths which was quite pleasant.
The menu is very much small plates focused and we were advised to order 3-4 items per person. Between us we tried the bread, a round of garlic croustades, chicken liver brioche, the leeks, monkfish, scallops, shiitake mushroom, beef tartare, trout, and the duck pithivier. We doubled up on some of the smaller portioned items within the list. For dessert we tried the chocolate choux bun. The food ranged from decent to excellent. Favourites were the bread (and accompanying butter!), the scallop, mushroom and the pithivier. The dessert was also really good. The leeks and the chicken liver brioche were less exciting and I would probably skip them next time.
Service was great, our primary server was really friendly and engaging and the food was delivered at a good pace. The bill for the 4 of us came to £357 of which £87 was spent on drinks. This felt quite reasonable. Overall a very enjoyable dinner and one I wouldn’t hesitate to return to if in the area.
