The Mill at Sonning - (Near Berkshire, london)

5 /5 Mirjana Fowle: Everybody should experience The Mill at least once. It is very indulgent, food for the body and soul (literally!). The car park is small, but parking attendants help to get as many cars as possible. And it’s free. You start downstairs in the bar with all the twinkly lights and view of the mill wheel which transports you back in time while you sip on a drink (or two). Then you are taken upstairs for an evening meal. You get your dedicated table and a server who is there to make your evening comfortable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant, there is no rush and our waitress was fantastic, very polite and friendly. Bread, butter and olives were already waiting at the table. You get to choose a main meal and dessert from the set menu (5 choices each). I had a salmon followed by vanilla pana cotta and coffee/tea in the end. That’s all included in the price of your ticket. The food arrived really quickly, it tasted delicious and we had plenty of time to chat and enjoy the atmosphere. After the meal you proceed to the theatre, which is cozy and no matter where you sit, you will be able to see every little detail on that stage. The show was a tribute to Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. We loved it, even if the drums were way too loud, the singers were excellent, including the backing singers who danced all the way through it. Audience was engaged, singing and dancing. It was a fabulous evening out and we have already bought tickets for our next show. We cannot wait!

4 /5 Kevin Lapworth: We saw my fair lady at the matinee. The show, cast and production were fantastic. The layout if youve never been is very intimate. Row A is literally feet on the stage and any seat is close to the stage with amazing views. Parking is on site but you need to be there early to get parked. The coordinators do an amazing job getting all of the cars in there Ive marked it down because of the food. The package is lunch and show with the restaurant being on 2 floors. They moved away from a carvery set up to more traditional table service. I had a steak pie but the veg was very disappointing, frozen carrots not quite cooked and a pea/corn mix with a few chips. Considering the price this was very disappointing and has got worse since our last visit. The waiting staff are great and efficient. All in all a great day out and highly recommend

4 /5 Chris Vaughan: As of Feb 2026 The Mill offers some performance only tickets, rather than meal inclusive. The Sunday matinee performance of a farce was a really good. The lunchtime menu was very good, main and pudding. There was a mismatch on the Prosecco price on the menu and our bill (higher), but on pressing it witge manager, we got re-charged the (contracted) lower menu price. Hopefully the new re-priced reprinted menu will be available v. shortly (Management please sort asap), so it matches your bill! A default fixed tip of £3.50 per person is a high percentage (c15%) of the food and drinks bill if you only had one drink each. Bring back optional tipping.... Great atmosphere in the restaurant and theatre. Dedpite tge above, will definitely visit again.

5 /5 John Cordrey: Visited with my wife to see "Death in Pemberley" along with a meal. This was my first visit and I have to say the experience was fantastic. The service in both the bar and restaurant was excellent, and the quality of the food was tip-top to match. The play followed, which was produced to an extremely high standard. Loved every moment. Excellent!
