The Funghi Club Marlborough - (Near Berkshire, South East)

5 /5 Vanessa Westwell: In July, I had a slightly disappointing visit, and so I was impressed when The Funghi Club team invited me back to try again, on the house! Today was a sunny, Tuesday lunchtime and I chose to sit inside in the bar area for a change. It was quiet at 12.15pm, but it soon filled up with lots of happy ladies who lunch, and some couples and small family groups. There was quite a buzz! There is a quieter area at the back of the bar area, if you want a calmer atmosphere. Nicole and her team were all very friendly and welcoming. There was a lot to choose from on the Menu and Specials. In the end I chose the Daily Special, which was a generously sized portion of Tuna Nicoise Salad for £16.50. The fine green beans were cooked perfectly with a little crunch. The salad dressing was tasty. If you prefer your Tuna Steak to not have any pink in the middle, please let your Server know. To follow, I had a Raspberry Tarte from the extensive, chilled Patisserie Selection. It was the perfect combination of a generous topping of fresh raspberries, atop some creamy, creme patisserie and a light, crunchy, pastry case. When your Tarte pastry almost leaps off the plate at the first tap of the fork, you know its cooked perfectly! Thank you very much. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. And I really appreciate your generosity and taking the trouble to put things right.

5 /5 Lyndon S Smith: "A lovely lunchtime visit to The Fungi Club" We had lunch today, it was our first visit, though the place has clearly been open for over a year and has already built a following, as it was nicely busy. Peter ordered the goat’s cheese salad and I ordered the mushroom burger, and we were both thoroughly pleased with our choices. I sampled a bit of the salad and found it delicious, while the burger was full of flavour and really hit the spot. The proprietor was incredibly welcoming and even introduced us to his colleague from Paris, which added a lovely touch—it’s great to see genuine French talent behind such a charming and well-run establishment. The interior has a distinctive French flair, and the display of tempting pastries only adds to the appeal. We would absolutely recommend The Fungi Club to anyone. 5 /5 Bessie: I visited with my daughter . We received a warm welcome . My daughter is celiac and I have a nut allergy. Both the waitress and chef were knowledgeable and able to accommodate us . The chef took time to come and speak to us and recommend dishes . The food was delicious and it was the best meal we have had out since visiting Italy last year . We had that cheese soufflé and crab and shrimp soufflé. My daughter had the chocolate mousse. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

5 /5 Damon.Brown Brown: Brilliant. From start to finish, everything was just top notch. Wed visited the Hungerford cafe before and were recommended to book ahead for the Marlborough cafe. Just as well,it was busy with a lovely vibe. Our food was superb - rich smoky chicken chasseur and an indulgent cassoulet with pork, Toulouse sausage and topped off with confit of duck. Portions are good and the prices are really good for the area and quality if the food. Lovely coffee too. Our food took about 20-25 mins from ordering. Not a problem at all - this isnt meant to be fast food. If theres a problem, its that theres so many lovely things other menu and specialty that youre really spoilt for choice. Good to see Michael in charge and keeping things on track and letting the service team know when things were sold out.

4 /5 Teddy Chu: We had an impromptu lunch here while driving north to Oxford. The restaurant is tugged inside an alley off the main road. They have daily specials to choose from. I had the crab souffle and my wife has onion soup with a side of Pâté. The food was good but a bit too salty for our taste. They also have beautiful sweet and savory pastries which we didnt have time to try.
