5 /5 Gon Freecs: Last night, five of us visited Spicy Grill (all girls) with a 7pm reservation. When we arrived, there were tables available and we were able to sit down, but unfortunately not at a table suitable for five people. We ended up waiting around an hour before we could properly sit together.
It was clearly an exceptionally busy night due to Pancake Day and Chinese New Year, and there were only two staff members managing the whole restaurant. While the wait was disappointing, the staff were apologetic and did their best under the circumstances.
To thank us for being patient, they kindly offered us a complimentary bottle of red wine and a cooked salmon dish, which we really appreciated. That thoughtful gesture helped turn the evening around and showed that they genuinely care about their customers.
Despite the hectic atmosphere, we were never rushed and were even allowed to stay until 10:30pm, although their closing time is 10pm. We found that very accommodating.
Overall, although the long wait wasn’t ideal, the staff’s hospitality and effort to make things right left a positive impression. We would definitely consider coming back again.
