Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat - (Near , South East)

4 /5 Christina Lockey: This was our 1st time staying and visiting the woodside Lodge retreat on the isle of Wight, beautiful too big for 2 people but was lovley having 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms plus a hit tub know how loud my husband snores at the monet we actually use spereate bedrooms and bathrooms lol the bath in the family bathroom lush and the hot tub great my 1st time they were always checking in on hot tub making sure things where okay, no problems I could be one of those that critise everything but it dont bother me yes some of the furniture could do with updating wear and tear and the skirting and walls were not the cleanest and the kettle was terrible with limescale but soon sorted and washed out but no was great they give you tea, coffee, buiscuits, milk tea towels, over gloves wash up. Liquid soaps towels iron hair dryer and also Toliet brushes in all bathroom dont never get and TV in ecah bedroom too x so Iver all lovley saty nice walks close down to the stoney beach x

5 /5 Tiffany May: Beautiful Lodge, lovely and clean. Lovely walks around the area including a beach. Nice reception area and staff. Had a lovely stay and will be back. Only 1 minor detail we only were given 3 toilet rolls and 1 bin bag for 8 people and then expected to buy the rest. Would have been nice to be given a few more but over all a great stay. Thank you

5 /5 Paul Robinson: Definitely one of the best places to stay on the island — even from a local’s perspective. The cabins are very well maintained, and the park itself is clean, tidy, and well laid out with excellent parking. It feels looked after and welcoming. On the downside, the TV system was a bit frustrating as I wasn’t able to stream from my phone. Also, while booking online was straightforward, it was more difficult to speak to someone directly about slightly different or specific requirements, which felt a little inconvenient. Overall though, a great place to stay and one of the better options on the island.

3 /5 Rhys Fisk: We recently stayed in one of the treehouse-style lodges at Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat. From the outset, the customer service was very good — staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. We were quickly issued our keys and headed off to our lodge without any problems. First impressions on arrival were great as the lodge looked wonderful and the setting was very appealing. However, as we settled in, several issues became apparent. The cooking facilities were quite limited, with no oven available, which made preparing meals difficult. The wood-burning stove was very dirty and clearly in need of a proper clean. There were also a number of maintenance issues including cracked tiles in both the living area and bathroom, a toilet seat that was peeling and left sharp edges, and a missing light fitting. The paintwork in places was also damaged and tired. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell that was noticeable every time we entered. When using the shower, a significant amount of water ended up on the bathroom floor with no way to clear it up properly, which made it slippery and potentially hazardous. In the living area there were many switches with no clear indication of what they controlled, which made things unnecessarily confusing. Unfortunately, the biggest issue of all was the mattress. We had one of the worst nights’ sleep we have ever experienced. It was so uncomfortable that we asked to move lodges, but were told all lodges use the same mattresses so moving would not help. After trying another night and again sleeping very poorly, we made the decision to leave early as we simply couldn’t face another night without proper sleep. It was a real shame as the location and initial welcome were very good, but the condition of the lodge and especially the uncomfortable mattress ultimately ruined what should have been a relaxing stay.
