What Clients Are Saying Banana Island Restaurant (GG)
1 /5 Hari R: Am very confused by the positive ratings - maybe I shouldn’t have chosen the goat meat. But I ordered tonight through Uber eats and the jollof rice was the only vaguely edible thing. The “goat” was basically a pot of cartilage, bone and dregs of tough dry meat (see photo 2; the pot on the right contained the pile of bones on the left - that’s AFTER I had tried to extract anything edible from them). And it was accompanied by what can only be described as a big ball of raw bread dough (see photo 1).
I hate saying this about - what I assume is - someone’s family business but I’m afraid that was probably the single worst takeaway I have had in London in 10 years.
5 /5 Rasak Ibrahim: The food was sensationa & very flavoursome , the cocktails were amazing and so refreshing you could taste the tropical flavours and the alcohol hit nicely
5 /5 Bo Blom: The atmosphere here was warm and welcoming, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. I ordered the shrimp linguine, and the pasta was perfectly al dente with a flavorful garlic butter sauce. The shrimp were fresh and juicy. The service was attentive and friendly.
5 /5 Zedekiah Akanga: Had jollof, plantain and goat in pepper sauce. Was delicious! Portions were very large. Will definitely be coming back again :)
Stephen Kerr We visit almost every day. We are very fortunate to have this close by. Great hot and cold food options and friendly service, always looking to do a good job by the customers. Best independent lunch spot around, highly recommended.
Stephanie Paola RamĂrez MartĂnez Delicious food! Im vegetarian and most of the team I’m disappointed with food in pubs..I ate banana blossom as veggie option. My husband the Sunday roast and it was delicious. Surely I’ll come back.
Juergen Thomas Have been going there quite a few times over the years, for a late breakfast/brunch, to avoid the chain hotel offerings. The paninis are excellent and generously sized, croissants also very good. The interior decor is nice too, with art-deco touches, more cozy than than chains. Happy to go back. Geri (Gergana) This is seriously the best food place in Wood Green. I had the Garlic Chilli Chicken Spud and it was the most delicious spud Ive ever had - hot and fluffy - not to mention the portion size was perfect! The customer service was also brilliant, he was very friendly and kind. I will definitely be coming back again.

The staff Ventino and Clarisawere welcoming and genuinely passionate about the food, which made the experience even better. The ambiance was cozy yet elegant. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu.
