Jose Jara-López I’d been wanting to try The Smoaking Goat for a long time, and we finally took the opportunity when some friends came to visit. It was absolutely worth the wait! First, I have to mention the great service. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly. We couldn’t decide between 2 white wines, and she kindly brought us a glass of each to taste before choosing, such a thoughtful gesture! We ended up going with the 2023 Portuguese white, Intervalo Branco. We decided to share several dishes between the five of us, and ordered: Fried Chicken, Tom Yum and Pork, Massaman Bavette, Pad Phet Trout and Courgette, Squid and Salted Duck Egg with Courgette, Cabbage and Mushroom Soy Sauce, Daikon Som Tam, three House Rotis, Jasmine Rice, and BBQ Turmeric Gurnard. The only dish I wouldn’t particularly recommend was the Cabbage and Mushroom Soy Sauce. Everything else was fantastic! My top recommendations would be the BBQ Turmeric Gurnard, the Squid and Salted Duck Egg with Courgette, and especially the Massaman Bavette, which was the standout dish. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. The open kitchen is a nice touch too - you can watch the chefs at work while you eat (if that’s your thing) Highly recommended!

Cezar-Eduard Durbaca Went for sarmale and papanasi. Food is very tasty and homey, perfectly balanced. This is the 3rd time weve been here and always loved the food. Service is good and will definitely be back.

Veronica A lovely little place with a family atmosphere. Nice and fast service. Very good food. Slightly more expensive prices than other Persians. We ate late so bought a dish to share and a starter. The main course Bakhteari was very nice, Jujeh very juicy and with lots of flavor but the starter Mast -O-Khiar is perhaps a bit in the most expensive class. However, we did not get 2 skewers as shown in the picture on the website but a mixed one so a bit overpriced there too. Will definitely come back next time we are in London.

Matt Davis We have been meaning to visit here for ages, so glad we did this week. Everything about this place is 5 star.. The food is outstanding, best steak Ive ever had, cooked to perfection, presented with style and the staff are amazing. Adriana is a beautiful lady and made the evening a great experience. Rhys I came here on a whim as an appointment had cancelled, so I had some time to kill. Excellent service and food, I went for the squid to start which was crisp and fresh, the vietnamese dipping sauce had a perfect balance of heat and unami. The burger that followed was epic, great depth of flavour and hit all the right notes. Service was efficient, polite and friendly - felt looked after throughout, offered drinks at the right time and never rushed.

Pauline Thompson Food order was incorrect through a genuine mistake. The restaurant immediately apologised and delivered missing items. We live outside the delivery area in Gillingham but collecting is never an issue as so worth it as the food quality is superb. Pauline and Ian
