4 /5 Andy Singh: During a recent visit to Canterbury, I had the pleasure of dining from Cinnamon Indian Takeaway. While the establishment is strictly a takeaway, thus negating the ambiance typically associated with dining in, I feel compelled to address the parking situation.
Prospective diners should be aware that parking is notably challenging, as the vicinity lacks dedicated spaces and is riddled with double yellow lines. Additionally, the location is not particularly car-friendly due to its confined space and narrow roadways.
Despite these logistical challenges, the allure of Cinnamons cuisine was strong enough to draw us back on consecutive days. The menu offers a delightful array of dishes, from which we chose the tarka dal, palak aloo, roti, and rice. Each dish was a testament to authentic Indian flavors, particularly the tarka dal, which was customized to our preference: sugar-free, piping hot, and bursting with traditional desi flavors.
The service was another highlight, characterized by exceptionally friendly staff who added to the overall positive experience. However, its worth mentioning a slight drawback regarding the portion sizes. Compared to other takeaways, the servings here are modest, with side dish containers not filled to the brim, which could be a point of contention for those with heartier appetites.
In conclusion, if youre in the Canterbury area and have a craving for authentic Indian cuisine, Cinnamon Indian Takeaway is worth the visit. Just be prepared for the parking predicament and slightly smaller portions – but rest assured, the flavors and friendly service more than make up for these minor inconveniences.
