1 /5 Oran McMahon: I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit and feel compelled to leave this review, as the experience fell well below an acceptable standard. I ordered a burger, which should be a simple and reliable option, yet it arrived in a frankly embarrassing condition. The burger was completely disassembled, with the bun, patty, and fillings all separated, making it messy and awkward to eat. To make matters worse, the burger sauce was smeared everywhere except inside the burger where it actually belonged, showing a clear lack of care in preparation and presentation.
The service and atmosphere only added to the disappointment. As we were leaving, we clearly overheard staff gossiping behind the bar about us, which felt highly unprofessional and left a very poor final impression. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in any customer-facing environment.
Adding to the confusion, our waitress informed us that the kitchen was already closed, yet at the same time offered us dessert. This contradiction highlighted a lack of communication and organisation among staff.
Finally, an automatic service charge was added to the bill. While this isn’t unheard of in the UK, it is unusual in a pub-style restaurant setting and felt particularly unjustified given the overall experience. Automatically rewarding service of this standard sets an uncomfortable precedent and detracts further from what was already a disappointing visit.
