1 /5 Sucheta Chiplunkar: If I could give zero stars, I honestly would. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing.
We ordered takeaway and started with chicken tikka. It was terrible—four large chunks of chicken that were bright red on the outside and off-white with a yellow turmeric shade inside. It was dry, overcooked, and had absolutely no smoky tikka flavour… in fact, no flavour at all.
For mains, we ordered chicken tikka biryani and their “ginger special” chicken with stuffed meat keema. The so-called chicken tikka biryani was honestly laughable. It wasn’t biryani by any definition—just plain turmeric rice with no aroma, no spices, and no taste. The chicken was chewy and tasted only of turmeric. The gravy served with it was equally bad, containing large pieces of undercooked cabbage and a few peas—no idea what it was supposed to be.
The ginger special chicken gravy was sweet and just about okay, which is the only reason I’m giving one star. Unfortunately, both gravies were swimming in oil—we had to literally drain it out and even used an ice cube to remove the excess oil.
The restaurant itself looks fancy, is styled like a fine-dining place, and is quite expensive—but the food quality is extremely poor. It claims to be an “Exclusive Indian” restaurant, but as an Indian who has eaten authentic biryani across London and in India, I can confidently say this was not Indian food. Not even close. Calling this an Indian restaurant is misleading—it may resemble food from some other Asian cuisine, but definitely not Indian.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. We genuinely need a real Indian restaurant in this area. If you’re a biryani lover, I’d strongly suggest Hyderabadi Bawarchi in East Ham—their chicken and anda biryani are excellent and come with proper, authentic biryani gravy
