4 /5 Jonathan Giordano: I had a lovely experience at Gino’s. The ambience was welcoming and relaxed, and the customer service was genuinely excellent — attentive without ever feeling rushed. The parmigiana was very good, and the pizza ai funghi was perfectly fine, though not the highlight of the meal. What really surprised me, though, was the coffee. Absolutely outstanding, rich, aromatic and easily the best part of the experience. Thank you, Gino for a memorable visit. I’ll be back for that coffee alone.

4 /5 Eletta: I had such a lovely experience at Gino’s in Oxford. The surprise highlight was the coffee, which tasted just like the ones I’ve had in Italy. The carbonara was wonderfully authentic, the pizza was decent, and the hospitality was warm from start to finish. And OMG, the parmigiana with eggplant was absolutely divine.

3 /5 Heather Gunn: I was hoping this place would pasta my test, unfortunately it failed to win a pizza my heart. I’ll start with the positives: good service, and good seating options including an outdoor patio (so you can *almost* trick yourself into thinking you’re in Florence, if you squint hard enough). The food was the biggest let down. We had garlic bread with cheese to start, which had a strange, strong aftertaste. I ordered the tagliatelle bolognaise, a dish I know and love. Nothing about it screamed “l’amour”; it lacked any depth of flavour and I barely finished the plate. On the outside, this place looked like it could have the rustic charm of a trattoria. It’s a shame expectations didn’t meet reality and this felt more like a British “spag bol”.

5 /5 Allen Foster: We found this lovely little Italian eatery, only a short walk to the New Theatre. We couldn’t fault the food,, service or the atmosphere. It must be good, as we could see returning customers being greeted and welcomed back by the staff. Well worth a visit and we will return when back in Oxford.
