3 /5 Ruby: I never leave poor reviews, but this was a real disappointment. We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and while the atmosphere and decor were great, the food was simply terrible. For the prices they charge, everything was flavourless and not authentic Italian in any way. Our starter even arrived before our wine. The carpaccio was acceptable, but I still found myself needing to season it.
The forty pound Milanese was awful, genuinely the worst I have ever had. The burnt breadcrumbs were bland and hard, and I had to send it back, which I never do.
It was replaced with the carbonara, which was again just average. The portion was small, the sauce was excessive, and it simply did not work.
The wine was excellent and the service was great, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. I think they are a lovely group of people and the decor is impressive, but the food just is not good enough. I would give this place a miss.
