5 /5 Alison Robinson: Our first visit to IoW, and we were recommended to Jaffnan in Freshwater. Luckily we were able to get a table at short notice, as it was otherwise fully booked. Many people seemed to be regulars, which is always a good sign.
Our starters were quickly delivered and really tasty. We both chose Silsila Murg as we like a fair amount of spiciness - my husband had the chicken version and I had sea bass. Such a good choice. I got a lot of fish, plus chargrilled peppers, tomato and onion, all bound in a rich tomato sauce, laced with some small green chillis, which packed quite a punch, but could be put aside if too eye-watering!
This is a bring-your-own bottle establishment, and the corkage fee is very reasonable. Its a small dining room, and the noise level was quite high with all the chatter; tbh, not a lot that can be done about that - just talk louder to your companions!
