Leila Morby First time at Ye Olde Six Bells and just sad that I don’t live nearer. My daughter lives in Horley and yesterday was her birthday. Myself and my mum drove up from Portsmouth to spend the day with my daughter and made a great decision to go here for lunch. What a beautiful lunch it was too. Six Bells is a beautiful old pub and restaurant with mainly original features, which gave a warm and cosy atmosphere. Gok our waiter was warm, welcoming and so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and an absolute gentleman. I had the pie of the day which was my favourite, Steak & Ale pie, served with delicious mash, vegetable and gravy. My daughter had the signature burger which looks amazing, not a typical burger and my mum had beef shin which she absolutely loved; she had left a little bit so Gok popped it in a little box for her to take home. We then had dessert; I had Millionaires chocolate fondant, which was absolutely delicious. My daughter had sticky toffee pudding and my mum had Boubon apple tarte tatin. We left clean plates all around and cannot wait to go back, the next time we visit my daughter, even if we only pop in to say Hello and have a drink in the bar area.
