4 /5 Lauren Walker: First of all ill start by saying, Ive been eating for Lulas since she was a trader at Gloucester Green Market. The food has always been incredible. In fact, I loved the yellow split peas so much that I ordered berber off the Internet and have tried to recreate this dish several times. Whilst my version is good, nothing beats or fixes the craving for it like Lulas.
Secondly, the service was OUTSTANDING. I dont remember the gentlemans name that served us, but you could tell he was passionate about making sure people had a great time.
The Ethiopian wine was a nice alternative, and even though I wasnt overly gond of the strong honey taste, it was nice to try it. Same goes for the Ethiopian beer, which was lighty and very drinkable.
The food all around was incredible. My friend loved her lamb dish, while I adored my Gomen and split peas ( obviously). I love injera and eating with my hands so got stuck in.
Only thing I would have liked is the food to be a little hotter (temp wise) and a bit of spice. I asked for some chilli but it never came. The dishes I ordered arent spicy, but I would have liked some.slided chillis or hot sauce on the table to be able to.add some.
All around fantastic evening.
