5 /5 Sally Cullimore: Just the best Sunday lunch we have ever had. The chicken was amazing, and generous. The pork belly melt in you mouth. Roasties were yummy - sometimes they disappoint when eating out, but not here. Service was friendly and the pub is lovely and cozy with a log fire on the go. Only slight disappointment was the dessert, not as good as the rest of the meal (sticky toffee tiramasu) was bland and a bit stodgy. But as the rest was top notch, 5 stars all round.

5 /5 Pub Reviewer-UK: This was a fantastic find, the food was amazing, the staff were friendly and the whole experience was perfect. I didn’t get any photos as I was with my cousin and I didn’t want to be taking out my phone and photographing my food. Suffice to say every course was amazing, and I think it was pretty good value. £40 for all 3 courses, and they were all tasty and good sizes too, some roasts can just be to big, this one was full of flavour and not to carb heavy. I’m looking forward to going back again.

5 /5 John Bancroft: Absolutely lovely lunchtime meal after a walk to Great Tew and back. Relaxed atmosphere, but very good and attentive service. I have never tried beer and cheddar soup, but it was fantastic, not what I expected at all and just so smooth and tasty. I had the chicken too and that was great and it was just enough to fill me up after the walk. My wife had the Waldorf Salad that had Oxford Blue cheese in it and she had a Pearl Barley risotto for main. Value to price ratio was perfect at £28 each for 2 courses and worth every penny for that special meal. We will definitely be back again and have already recommended to a couple of people in Thame. Well worth the 45 mins drive. Thank you all for making our lunch special.

5 /5 Mark Allan: We came here for a bday celebration.. the food is simply put amazing. You dont leave like you have over paid and underfed. Quality is a high standard. Hosting is classy but also not in your faxe. A warm welcome for our first time. Even though we have driven past it multiple times the table ordered steaks fish and chips and the chicken. Steak cooked to perfection. The chickeb sauce was dangerously addictive in how its balanced and paired with the chicken and the fish and chips. Well a lot of other resturants could learn a lot from this place. Yes the menu is small. However its small for a reason. Its keeping the consistancy constant . After the meal they did a little smothing special for the birthday girl. Which really made it worth while. The both of us will be looking forward to comming about as the lunch menunfor 3 courses needs a serious attempt. Thank you for an amazing meal and a lovely night
