4 /5 Greta: The food here is absolutely delicious and it is so affordable. You will definitely be full after eating here, but in the best way possible, with tasty, flavourful and healthy (ish) food. I had a meat combo, with awaze tibs and lega tibs, which was served with a spongy, sour and tasty injera. My mum had the Veggie combo, which was also very good. The restaurant is warm and clean, with music that isnt too loud. I 100% recommend coming here for some delicious Ethiopian food:)

5 /5 Ak Rom: What a great experience. Thought I would try and it was so awesome. People are lovely and the food is superb. The atmosphere is good. It was gluten free and eating with the hands was fun. You might be hesitant trying something new, but you are made to feel welcome as soon as you step in, and there is no pressure. Place is spacious and nicely decorated to showcase Ethiopian culture. I hope more people will know about this gem. It deserves to thrive. Thank you for a great experience. For sure we will be back!

3 /5 Stephanie Hoang: Im confused why this restaurant has such high ratings. I felt that the food was okay. It had a medium amount of flavor, but the tasting plate didnt seem so special to warrant such a high google reviews rating overall. I appreciated trying a new cuisine (never had Ethiopian before), but we left feeling like something was missing - flavor? One thing the other reviews got right was the price is very good for portion size!

4 /5 X: Solid 4.4. Food can take time but tastes nice. The chicken and egg is abundantly seasoned. House special tib is less strongly flavored than my expectation, (with some soy sauce notes reminding me of Mongolian lamb in Chinese restaurants :3) but I ordered because I want to try the special and I’ve had too much curry this week.. the chunks of lamb are generous. I ended up buying a bag of enjera despite my limited freezer space. Maybe I’ll return to try some combos and buy more bread.

The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, making it a great spot for both relaxed dinners and special gatherings. What truly stood out was the wonderful service. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a fantastic experience. Every recommendation was spot on, and we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout the entire meal. The kitfo was cooked to perfection tender, flavourful, and beautifully seasoned. You could taste the quality and care in every bite. The doro wot was rich and deeply satisfying, with tender chicken simmered in a perfectly spiced sauce that had just the right amount of warmth. The beg wot was equally impressive succulent, slow cooked lamb infused with bold, aromatic spices that made every bite memorable. And the injera was simply delightful: soft, fresh, and perfectly textured to complement the dishes. It tied everything together and elevated the entire meal. Marathon Restaurant exceeded expectations in every way. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a fantastic atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!!!! ❤️
