5 /5 Carly Thompson: I enjoyed a spontaneous lunch today with my partner as we were both working in the same area.
Its within a beautiful setting, with a babbling brook leading you to the car park. The staff were welcoming and attentive. There is a play area for little ones and its very dog friendly with their own menu to choose from!
We could have chosen many other places but we were drawn to the Old Fisherman and we were not disappointed.
5 /5 nicky Gibbons: We were allowed to park our motorhome there, with a £10 donation to charity. The pub is friendly and there was a warm atmosphere with log burner. Food choices were good and reasonably priced. Dogs allowed with local footpaths nearby. Very quiet and outside the village. On the river Thame. Very convenient for Oxford and a stop over from A40.
We will visit again.
5 /5 Buffy Wilkinson: Absolutely delighted with every aspect of our visit. Decided to go to The Old Fisherman for a family Sunday lunch and we were impressed with the food and service. As a wheelchair user I’m pleased to say getting in and out was easy and the table height was perfect. The car park and garden are both large and the pub easily accommodated our party of five.
I’m a vegetarian so chose the beetroot and sweet potato tart instead of meat with my lunch and it was delicious. I’m told the lamb shanks were fantastic.
5 /5 Amy: Absolutely fantastic! Came across it on our drive to Oxford and see they did food, was greated at the door and given the option on where to sit! The bar man was so friendly and so helpful, we got a sharing Camembert and a meat trio dish, both were so so so yummy! Had a lovely atmosphere, great garden and really cute inside! Also had a dog at the bar which can’t ever be a bad thing!
Sad we didn’t get to stay longer but glad we stopped ☺️☺️
ciprian mihai Friendlier staff than at Windsor Castle I have never seen in my life. CONGRATULATIONS to all those behind the gates, who make our visit possible to be unique.
So much history and elegance in one place. It is unbelievable what historical thrill, what emotions and how much story there is in every room, in every object, in every painting and it is unimaginable what sensation you can experience here when you hear its story.
Stepping into a royal house with so much history can be unique for a lifetime.
I was impressed and amazed how wonderful it is here.
We thank the royal house for sharing the history of this magnificent place with us.
Incredibile place.

Susie Wong WOW amazing new fish & chip shop with something a bit different! My family love the scampi & battered sausage. I had a beautiful bit of battered skate wing - you could taste it was fresh - I work in catering and I love fish - I will defo have again! The chips were chunky & crunchy and it was all freshly cooked while we waited. Nice owner too! Keep up the good work!
Neethu Joy The food here is incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection. The customer service is awesome, with staff who are friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about making your experience enjoyable. They also provide generous portions, giving great value for money. The chicken roast, in particular, is packed with flavour and tastes absolutely delicious. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I would definitely recommend.
Ella Thomas The best Thai food i’ve ever had. What an amazing experience, delicious and tasty authentic dishes. Great portions and lovely flavours. Definitely order the Sam Moo Tip Kua Prik (crispy pork, Omni mince & vegan pork crackling) it was incredible.
