5 /5 Lorraine Jackson: This pub has had a huge and well overdue refurbishment since I last visited quite a few years ago.
Although the layout is very much the same, there is adequate space for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters between tables too. Gone are the grimey tacky furniture and bar surfaces that were once the norm.
Customers can enjoy meals and drinks outdoors too, which is adequately lit up at night.
There is also a big screen for watching popular sporting events ideally situated in the lower level at the rear of the pub where youll find a pool table and a further addition of tables and seating. This area leads out to the garden where blankets and throws are provided at the door for your warmth and comfort.
I didnt have anything to eat on this visit but did notice the extensive choice displayed on the menu boards.
Dog bowls and treats are also available too.
The clientele fully represents the residents, workers and senior citizens of the local area.
I look forward to visiting again soon!

The pub was almost empty.
The service was OK but the steak and Ale pie was pretty awful as clearly evident from the picture.
