1 /5 Willow Garne: I never write negative reviews however I was so disappointed by this meal that I am. It started right at the door, where we were greeted by the host (an older lady with blonde hair). She was incredibly rude and dismissive. I was trying to say we have a booking, but she cut me off mid sentence and said “yeah but how many” “ok but 2?” In an angry tone. I understand working in hospitality is stressful as I’m also a server, but if I treated guests that was I would be fully reprimanded!! I said yes a table for 2 please, and we were sat. I went to the bathroom and oh my god it was a horror scene. (My boyfriend confirmed mens was the same) there was excrement, toilet paper, and god knows what else everywhere!! After washing my hands I still felt a bit gross as the taps also looked dirty, and the tables in the restaurant are very sticky! I was in an upset mood already at this point due to our welcome, but I decided to keep trying as it’s my boyfriends birthday (which they would have known if they let me say about our booking, as I was hoping I could make the meal special). The server came over and he was super friendly and kind! This instantly changed my mood and I ordered my drink and food, he is a credit to your restaurant, very happy and friendly! Drinks and starters arrived abruptly and the mozzarella planks were delicious! Very hot and stringy! I thought we just got off to a bad start and things were better, But alas it was not to be. My main arrived, and while presented nicely, it was horrible. (Good notes: corn, gravy and fries were delicious if not a little cold) the steak was very sad. I asked medium rare, but what was delivered resembled closer to ham hock? It was pink yes, but was stringy like ham, and extremely grisly. To make matters worse the taste was very off. I thought I was being dramatic and grimaced my way through as I didn’t want to sour my partners mood, and I hate complaining, but eventually I asked him to try a bit and he agreed it tasted like disinfectant/chemicals. I abruptly stopped eating and called over a manager who was very polite and they took my steak off the bill which was very nice of them. I was very apologetic because I didn’t want to cause a fuss but it really was disgusting!!! Of course the staff (minus the host) were all amazing and friendly and this was at no fault to them! And I don’t blame the kitchen for this mistake either, but it was my first time at a TGI Fridays, and I feel it will be my last. We didn’t wanna stomach desert so we went across the street to heavenly desserts, much better!
