3 /5 The London Guru: Visited Thai Square Trafalgar Square for dinner recently. The food itself was really good. Flavours were solid and the dishes we had were enjoyable overall.
Service was a bit mixed: it took quite a while for someone to come take our order, but once we ordered, the food arrived surprisingly quickly.
That said, it’s noticeably pricey compared to most Thai places in London. Nothing felt particularly special or standout to justify the higher prices. It’s more expensive than average without being better than your typical solid Thai spot.
One frustrating bit: we specifically asked for one dish to be made spicy, but it came out completely mild. When we mentioned it and asked for something to add heat, they brought a small plate of chopped chillies… and charged £1 for it. I’ve been to plenty of Thai restaurants (including other Thai Square locations in London) where they happily bring extra chillies, a tray of sauces, or condiments to adjust spiciness at no extra cost. Charging for that felt petty and unusual.
Great central location near Trafalgar Square, but for the price, I’d probably go elsewhere next time unless convenience wins out.
