5 /5 Nick Saltpot: Our first time eating at this restaurant and wow! Came out of the theatre looking for somewhere to eat and virtually next door is this gem. First impressions were, it’s a big, quirky place with strange, unusual décor, like downtown Bangkok I guess, weird things stuck to the walls and hanging from the ceiling, odd bits of corrugated sheeting, posters, pots, lanterns and balloons; a riot of colour, full of interest, and even a boat hanging in the middle! The quirk continued downstairs, interesting seating and an open kitchen which we were lucky enough to be sat right in front of, so we could watch their expert chefs at work.
They had a fantastic range of plant-based options, so we were well catered for and spoilt for choice. We went for the pinto menu for two, an easy option, where you can choose a curry type, a stir fry, a special noodle option and a choice of rice, to share. The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious, and plenty of it. The green curry was creamy, spicy and warming. The yummy cashew stir fry was tangy, in a chilli sweet and sour sauce, with veggies and soft tofu cubes. The Pad Thai was moreish, with peanuts and lime on top, and there was loads of fragrant Jasmine rice to soak up the lovely sauces. What a fabulous Thai feast, for under twenty quid a head!
The place was really interesting, the food amazing and the service was great… we will definitely be back.
