5 /5 Clive Leaper: Ive found this a difficult one to review. There are aspects that I thoroughly loved, primarily the remote location, the timelessness of the pub, the friendliness of the staff . We enjoyed a nice drink before settling down for a pub lunch. The menu of pub grub was extensive and full of possibilities. I plumped for liver & bacon, which is a favourite of mine. To be honest, it wasnt fabulous, it was alright. My dining partner went for the fish & chips and raved about how good it was. Im kicking myself for making the wrong choice.
Id definitely go back there to rectify my dining disappointment even if it meant cutting through muddy fields to get there, its like an oasis. This pub should get top marks for just being there and I feel confident that on my next visit Ill revisex my score upwards.
