Scruffy O Was really looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint. I went on Saturday 2 Jan 2026 lunchtime and it was quite busy generally in the food hall, but after ordering at the counter, the food was ready in a timely manner. I ordered the fried chicken banana leaf meal (husband had the chicken curry banana leaf meal) and a side of mutton rolls. It was all beautifully presented and the taste lived up to how it looked. I thought it to be really good value for money, the portions are generous without losing any quality of taste. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. The mutton rolls were a generous size, crispy, spicy and delicious. The fried chicken was very tasty and not too greasy or oily. All the acompaniments - veggies, potatoes, sauces, rice, popadom, fried chilies - were great.
My husband and I were staying at the Marriott hotel opposite, so location wise was perfect. Also close to the Elizabeth line for anyone coming that way. I’d already gotten fed up of the abundance of restaurants in the area which charge a lot of money and deliver a subpar experience (average food, ridiculous upcharges, etc). Gopal’s corner is one I’m definitely going to return to when we stay at the Marriott again, and I can imagine I will eat there multiple times during our stay.
