5 /5 Alan Thompson: We visited here last Sunday for dinner. I had the burger and my wife and son had the pork roast. The service was exceptional. The staff were attentive and service was quick and efficient. Although we couldnt book a main table, we had a table at the bar which was more than enough and this didnt reflect bad on the dining experience at all. I am a big burger lover and find it hard to find a burger that is up to standard however this is one of the best burgers I have ever had. My wife and son both loved their roast which whilst I didnt try looked fantastic also. We had puddings. My son had the plum crumble. My wife had the chocolate tort which were very tasty. Dining out is expensive these days and it was nice to pay for a quality service and a quality product. I also thought the price was reasonable If I had one issue and this is just being picky, it was that it was so busy (a good reflection on their part) which meant parking was limited.

5 /5 Lewis Bowles: After the train was cancelled and stopped at Botley the staff were very welcoming and an impromptu date night was had. The food was great and the staff were incredibly friendly. We are definitely coming back especially considering that they are dog friendly.

But a work colleague has been touring around rating pubs on their Sunday roasts and she said that this place is top of her list. We went there today for lunch and it was amazing. The place inside is simply beautiful, not what I expected. The staff were very attentive, and the atmosphere just calm, relaxing and classy. I had the pate for starters which was very good quality, filling and well presented. For mains I had the BBQ burger, which was incredible. I’ve eaten a lot of burgers in my life, and have been to 12 states in the US gorging on burgers, but this one was a true 10/10. And for desert I had the Biscoff cheese cake, which was delicious, and unlike most places, a very generous portion. I can’t recommend this place enough.

5 /5 Alice M: I have been to The Railway before but never for a Sunday Roast so decided to give it a try last weekend. The beef roast was really tasty and great portion size. Wouldn’t bother with the cauliflower cheese next time though as that didn’t taste of any cheese at all, just milk/cream. Our waitress was really lovely and attentive but service was slightly let down by the young man behind the bar who was rude and unwelcoming when we tried to order a drink as we waited for our table. Overall a good experience though, good food as always so I’d recommend their roasts!
