5 /5 Tsunami: Was surprised to find that the reviews for this place were low. From my pov, I tried the sarmale and the pork stew. Pork stew, I was not a fan of as it tasted very “raw” and smelt like pork, however, I suspect this is just how the traditional dish is meant to be. The reason for the 5 star on food is that the sarmale is easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in my life. It is so simple, yet complex because of the acidity from the cabbage (not sure how it is marinated, but it is almost pickled), and the rich flavours of the rice and meat. It is well balanced by the yoghurt/sour cream. My only nit: perhaps a bit too much liquid. This was my first time trying sarmale, so there may be better options out there that I’m not aware of. But to me: this is solid comfort food that I would always be happy to get.

The atmosphere was great. Was a really traditional experience. I have fallen in love with the food very happy. I will come back again.
