1 /5 James Ritchie: Honestly, I don’t even need to say much — the other reviews already show how terrible this place is. However, the main issue tonight was security.
If the security guard had the decency to check my ID properly, he would have seen that I work within health and safety. After what I experienced tonight and the way I was treated — especially as the brother of the person who hosted the event — I was shocked. Wearing an SIA badge does not give anyone the right to speak to people however they want.
Based on his behaviour, I seriously doubt he will be holding his SIA licence for much longer. In fact, I would be more than happy to check whether he even has a valid licence, because I don’t see how someone who acts and speaks the way he does could have passed the required training. I may also request my company to carry out a DBS check, as I question whether he should even be working in security at all.
As the owner, you should be teaching your staff how to speak to people with respect and ensuring they are properly trained. From what I saw, none of the security staff appeared to be adequately trained or even hold a Health & Safety Level 2 qualification. To be honest, it doesn’t look like you do either.
After looking more closely at your business, I don’t believe it would survive a proper inspection. In the future, show everyone respect — you never know who you might be dealing with or who has the authority to have your business investigated.
P.S. There is a leak in the ceiling on the second floor, which is a serious health and safety risk, along with several other issues I noticed. I will be passing this information on to whoever carries out your inspections so these matters can be looked into properly.
