2 /5 Matt Mahoney: I don’t have a lot happening in my life or a lot of money like most people these days. But the one thing I look forward to is having a monthly Saturday night takeaway with my other half.
We always go to Vindaloo, have done for years. However this evening I did my usual order at 5pm on the website, got the email, 25 minute wait, made my way over, turned up at 5.30 sat and waited an extra 20 minutes.
Then a man walks in with a torn bag. He was apologised to and given the right order. Turns out he was given mine, they took it out the back, 30 seconds later my order is conveniently ready.
Freezing cold chips. These often go cold quick as it is, so after taking it to the car I went back in to ask why they have given me a god knows how old, cold order. The popadoms were limp and looked half eaten.
And to top it off he got aggressive with me and tried to make me look stupid in front of the other customers all because I complained for THEIR mistake, it’s not my fault they gave my order to someone else and instead of explaining the situation (would have happily waited to have the whole lot redone). Getting angry and shouting at me because I caught them in a lie?
They did redo the chips but the rest was still luke warm, the Curry’s had a skin on them.
The whole reason I order online and collect is so I can ensure it’s fresh, if I wanted a at least 45 minute cold takeaway I would have just got it delivered. Will not be going here again, to go here for years to be treated like that is ridiculous.
