The mezze were vibrant and beautifully presented, and the bread was warm and irresistible. Portions were generous without sacrificing quality, and everything tasted homemade with real care. Tim Parsons Absolutely love what you guys are doing. The pub has a great quirky atmosphere and fantastic events. Great selection of food and drink (including a good range of non alcoholic options for drivers). The staff are very welcoming and friendly too.

Carl Jeffrey The rural riverside setting is perfect for anyone who loves countryside walks or fancies hiring a rowing boat to explore the river. I was hiking solo on a multi-day trek from Brighton to Rochester when I came across the Anchor Inn. It was a warm early evening, and as I ordered a refreshing pint in the front bar, the landlord Simon (who had never met me before) immediately noticed my rucksack and said: “If you’re looking for somewhere to pitch your tent tonight, you’re very welcome to use the field behind the pub.” It was such a generous offer that I gladly accepted. I spent the evening enjoying a few pints in the company of Simon and his staff, who made me feel completely at home. I didn’t eat during my stay, though the food looked excellent, but I can vouch for a superb pint of Harvey’s Best Bitter. The following morning, as I was packing up at 8am, Simon even walked over with a cup of tea – an incredibly thoughtful gesture that summed up the hospitality I experienced here. I truly can’t thank Simon and his team enough. The Anchor Inn is a brilliant riverside pub, and I’ll definitely be returning with friends. Highly recommended!

Rittick Talukdar One of those places where if you know, you know. The scallops wrapped in bacon was just perfectly cooked! Excellent fish pie. Oysters were fresh. The wine list is great. Perfect for a quick nice afternoon meal! Make sure you come early or you wont get a seat. And whatever you do, dont miss the sticky toffee pudding! One of the best Ive had recently.

Through The Lens Scrumptious food. Must try the desi tika biriani. Best biriani ever. Not sure why the low reviews. All the food was delicious and delivery was super fast. Will definitely be ordering again. Order direct from their website for discounts. More expensive via just eat etc. And is better for the business.
