5 /5 Louis Jagger: I just now wandered in here on a whim, remembering my friend Cosmins frequent eulogies to the cuisine of his mother country. The manager, a jolly gentleman who insisted on giving us complimentary (and extremely tasty) Romanian grappa, insisted too upon my main course, a plate of steak with polenta and garlic sauce. It, along with my partners chicken breast fillet, was exquisitely cooked; the sauce especially was so strong as to feel indelibly committed to memory, which is ideal for someone who thinks that any dish containing the word garlic needs to essentially threaten your well-being with the stuff. Throw in the cosy interior, delicious house wine and staggering value for money and you have yourself an exemplary restaurant experience. The lesson is, always listen to a manager who insists. The other lesson is, if you like the look of a place, trust your instincts and walk in. Or read this review and walk in, youll get the same result.
