Gaucho Broadgate - (Near City of London, South East)

1 /5 Chan Simon (Thundercat): We booked dinner at Gaucho for a celebration, and I was genuinely looking forward to it — especially as it was my first visit after many years of living in London. The food itself was good, and I’ve included photos to reflect that. Unfortunately, the service on this particular Wednesday evening didn’t our meet expectations. We arrived at 6:30pm, and by around 7:30pm the restaurant was full and busy. What stood out was that one waitress appeared to be managing a very large number of tables on her own. She was consistently attentive, taking orders, serving drinks, and clearing plates throughout the evening. In contrast, the managers on duty seemed less engaged with the wider dining area. Although they occasionally helped clear a table or two, there were several moments when nearby tables needed attention and guests were waiting. At one point, a manager spent considerable time with a group of regular customers but did not check in with surrounding tables, including ours. Eventually, I had to signal to request the bill. It was brought over, but there was no check‑in about how our meal had been or any closing interaction. For a bill of over £220, the lack of acknowledgement felt surprising. Before leaving, we made a point to thank the waitress who had been working so hard, and she responded warmly. However, as we exited, the front‑of‑house team were engaged in conversation and didn’t notice us leaving. Based on this experience, I don’t plan to return, and I wouldn’t recommend this particular location to family or friends or colleagues. The food was enjoyable, but the service on this visit didn’t reflect the standard I expected. I genuinely hope the team reviews their approach to workload distribution and guest engagement, as the waitress working that evening was doing an excellent job under pressure.

5 /5 Lee Jones: I cannot rave enough about this Restaurant & Bar. The staff were welcoming and got all 10 of us sorted with drinks as soon as we arrived. After approx 20 minutes we were shown to our table. Wow, what an amazingly decorated underground restaurant. Our host was Miri, who was fantastic from the first encounter until we all left. Excellent advice on starters and drinks. The starters came very quickly and everyone was impressed with both the quality and the serving size. The wine selection was very special and we choose wonderful Red that complemented the Steak perfectly. The mains & sides were brought out and everyone was blown away by the quality of the food. The chips were really good, spinach was outrageously good and the tender stem broccoli was the same. The 400g Ribeye was one of the best Steaks I have ever had. I had the cheesecake (as suggested by Miri) & I was done. The whole experience from start to end was amazing.

5 /5 Jumping Cartle: Amazing restaurant has the rump steak and prawns for starter was exceptional. Also a special mention to such an amazing waitress Rossella really made our first time here and will be back. Beautiful service and amazing food. Very very happy thanks Gauchos

3 /5 Ian Bryce: For the price point, this was a disappointing experience. On a Friday night, the restaurant felt short-staffed. The food was mediocre: all the steaks were over-seasoned, two arrived cold, and the chips were so salty they were inedible. The wrong sides were brought to the table, and although staff said they would be removed from the bill, they still appeared at the end. The steak knives were poor quality and struggled to cut through a marinated steak that I should have been able to cut with a butter knife. Drinks were slow to arrive every time we ordered. Service missed many basics: clearing plates, pouring wine, checking in on the table, and serving in a timely manner. Instead, staff were often seen talking among themselves. My last visit to this Gaucho was ten years ago. I had hoped for improvement, but it was average then and remains average now. The only positives were the warm greeting on entry,the farewell and cocktails.

5 /5 Endy: We had a great experience at the restaurant. Jessica was an excellent server — very friendly, attentive, and professional. She helped us choose a bottle of wine, and her recommendation was perfect. The wine was excellent and made our evening even more enjoyable. Thank you, Jessica, for the wonderful service!
