Jacobs & Field - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

2 /5 Heather Gunn: I feel like I’m offending the Oxford community when I say this; I was not a fan of Jacob and Fields. Call the posh boys on me, but everything about this place was subpar at best. We visited on a Sunday morning and service was not just slow, it lacked any warmth or personality. I got the “Farmer’s Breakfast”, and yet nothing on my plate tasted hearty. It felt like a “picky bits” breakfast, except it was all the bits no one else had wanted and you needed to finish before they went bad. It was overpriced for the quality of the food on the plate. Given the cold reception, it’s going to take a lot more than fake flowers and cheap fairy lights to warrant another visit from me.

5 /5 Ieuan Jones: Fantastic vibe and lovely food. The perfect spot for brunch just when we needed it and had no idea where to go (we’re not from here). Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would come back next time we are here.

5 /5 Abbie Hull: Jacob’s & Field is a perfect place for brunch. Me and my friends went for my birthday and we had the best time! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Our waiter Kerry was so friendly and attentive which made the experience 10 times better. Would definitely recommend!!

5 /5 Jeromos Klincsek: I had such a great experience at Jacob’s & Field in Oxford! The chai latte and Earl Grey tea were lovely, and the pancake stacker was absolutely delicious. I also tried the bacon and fried egg pancakes, which were amazing – such a perfect balance of flavours. The service was really friendly and attentive, and the whole place had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

2 /5 Lord JR: I am a very regular customer, and the vibe from last times from the staff is not good at all, inflated egos and bad attitudes. If you don’t have a booking, they won’t let you in, even if there is clearly space. If you really thought about the business, you could manage tables and seat people until the next reservations, but ego wins and you do whatever you want. Later I came back with a friend. It took 10 minutes just to order two drinks and probably 15 more only to receive them (a coffee and a pineapple juice)… The waitress who served us with some blue hair was already complaining about other customers at another table and speaking badly about them. That is completely unprofessional. She knew our drinks were ready and didn’t come near us at all. Zero attitude, zero service. When we went to pay, I didn’t pay the service charge, and as soon as we passed the mirror, they were already talking about why we didn’t pay it — with his colleague wearing glasses, another person with zero attitude and poor behavior. Absolutely unprofessional. It’s a shame for the rest of the waitresses, who seem cheerful and willing to work, as well as for the kitchen - excellent chefs and delicious food. Unfortunately, until the attitude changes, I won’t be coming back.
