ChefCheer - (Near Sutton, South East)

5 /5 Jamie Roberts: We’ve been driving past ChefCheer for weeks and finally decided to give it a go one Sunday evening. The restaurant was very quiet and its relatively small inside. Decor and music made us feel like we’re back home in Egypt. This Iraqi/Persian food is so so good. Really generous portions and super tasty. We were given a complimentary bowl of lentil soup, which I would 100% go back for! The lamb kozi just melted in your mouth and the mixed grill was delicious. The only disappointment was the okra stew which was a little slimey. There looked like there’s a large table toward the back but otherwise tables are for 2-4 people. If you’re a big group I would recommend booking. We need to give this local restaurant some love! We can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

5 /5 Amanny Mo: I literally dream about the lamb chops from Chef Cheer- they are so beautifully seasoned, juicy and cooked to perfection. Every time I go I love it and the portions for this dish are excellent. In fact I always order the dish (very good value for portion size) and I never ever finish it ha! You can have it with different sides but I have the bulgur which is in a tasty well-seasoned tomato sauce. Theres a good variety of starters too if youre hungry and the portions are not too bad for the price point. The fresh bread is a must try! The other thing I love is that you will arrive and be given a complimentary delish lentil soup - it is divine! Its so warming esp. In these long wintery months. This is a small restaurant with more a cosy, chilled vibe with mostly tables of 4 and a larger table to the rear so its more for smaller groups. Theres arabic music playing in the background loud enough to hear and add atmos but not loud enough to drown out conversation. Parking in front is a bit tricky but you should be able to find somewhere on surrounding roads in the evenings without any issue at all. You can also get takeaway which Ive done before but I prefer to have my food HOT and fresh as intended by the chef! This is truly a hidden gem - well, its hidden in plain sight. Dont walk to this restaurant RUN!! So a massive CHEERS and compliments to the Chef at ChefCheer!

We’ve just come back from a meal here, and it was exceptional. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but the quality of the food is something you wouldn’t expect until it’s placed in front of you. Every single dish was delicious, full of distinct flavours, and clearly prepared with care. You can genuinely taste the freshness and the thought that goes into each item. It’s more than just a meal, it’s a treat. The kind of place that quietly surprises you and stays with you long after you’ve left. Places like this are so important for our neighbourhood. Small, independent businesses that focus on good food and a real experience deserve to be supported and celebrated. I would highly recommend trying this cuisine and visiting this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

5 /5 Astrid D: Absolutely fantastic place! The food was incredible. We went all vegetarian and had the cold mezze platter and the okra and aubergine dishes. The place is super clean and has very relaxing atmosphere. We can only highly recommend this restaurant and will def be back soon to try the meat options on the menu.
