Gusto Italian - Oxford - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

3 /5 Chris T: We came to Oxford for a day trip and decided to have dinner here before heading back to London. The place had great reviews, so we came with high expectations. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. Most dishes weren’t hot when served, the Crab Linguine had barely any crab, the Aubergine Steak was undercooked, and the Swordfish was dry. The pizza bread also lacked rosemary flavour. The only nice part was the friendly and welcoming staff. Sadly, I don’t think the food quality matches the high ratings.

5 /5 Stephen Nichols: Words completely fail, this has to be one of the bestest ever restaurants we’ve been in to! We came here for my mum’s birthday and had the La Carte Menu, the food and drinks were delish plus all the staff and service was superb! The recommended dishes… Crispy Lemon & Pepper Calamari, Wild Mushrooms, Gusto Dough Petals, Three Meat Ragu Lasagne, Ragu Pappardelle, Caponata and Mixed Salad. The final touch was when they brought out the birthday surprise, a chocolate mousse with edible petals, strawberries and Blackberries with a birthday candle on! Would absolutely most definitely come back again and would love again to say thank you to all the staff who were serving on the evening of 29th Oct 2025

4 /5 Sarah Loke: Recommend making a reservation unless you have the time to queue for a table. We thought the food was alright - tasted nice but not amazing, so its worth a visit if you dont have to queue too long. We actually requested to be served at the bar, so we didnt have to wait too long. The tiramisu was great though. Special shout-out to Mo who served us. Great personality and attention to detail, we enjoyed our time there!

5 /5 Geri Low: Amazing food and service. Had the calamari starter which was so juicy and tender. We ordered the crab linguine and seabsss which was very tasty too. Andrea the waitress was so friendly never too much trouble to ask for help.

3 /5 Adam: The service was okay, nothing really to leave much of an impression just the basics to get through the meal. Food was tasty but had some issues. The ribeye steak had a lovely flame grilled flavour but sadly it was overcooked. Asked for it medium rare but it was served on the medium to well done side meaning it was quite tough. Chips served with the steak again were tasty but served luke warm. Added the option of prawns to the meal, only 2 received….. overall a disappointing experience.
