May Myanmar Very nice local restaurant in New Cross, went for Thursday evening (only day they are open for dinner) when they have a dinner menu. Shared plates, we had almost all the mains except beef carpaccio as was sold out by then. Would definitely recommend, service was efficient and staff were lovely. Our favourites: the bread and dips, cherry salad (excellent), Moroccan fish and glazed duck breast salad! We wish the fresh bread was slightly bigger though to mop up all the dips! Definitely will be back to try their breakfast/brunch!

Andy Shearman Just returned from a 3 night stay. Ideally positioned to explore a lovely old character English town. Paul and his staff are very friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious, from the breakfast to lunch and the Sunday roast. Shout out to the chefs. Will definitely return if just for the kind hospitality all staff showed during our stay.

John Wilkins We visited Kitchen W8 for Sunday lunch, as it was my daughters 17th birthday and she fancies something special and it was, quite simply, absolutely wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the experience was a perfect blend of high-end gastronomy and warm, welcoming hospitality. The Food The kitchen clearly takes Sunday lunch seriously. Every dish was a testament to seasonal, high-quality ingredients handled with technical precision. The flavors were balanced and sophisticated, yet stayed true to the comforting soul of a traditional Sunday meal. It is rare to find a roast that feels this elevated while still being immensely satisfying. The Service What truly set the afternoon apart was the service. The staff were attentive and professional without being overbearing, creating an atmosphere that was both polished and relaxed. They made us feel genuinely well-looked-after throughout the entire meal. Verdict Kitchen W8 continues to prove why it’s a neighborhood gem with a serious reputation. If you are looking for an exceptional Sunday lunch in London—where the food is Michelin-standard and the service is flawless—this is the place to be. We will certainly be returning.

David Billings We were kindly gifted this experience. Finding it was easy but the taxi driver drove straight past and we had to tell him to turn around. Its magical walking up into the area trees on each side. Its very natural ans rustic and charming. Small details all around add to the atmosphere. We had 3 complementary gin and tonics each! And got a bit merry. And the canapes were yummy..we stood in the right place as was offered loads and even had to resuse in the end as would have been full. Tables were beautifully decorated. And separated around the area. We had hoped to sit under the main tent but was directed to our allocated table with others. There are games dotted around to interact with if you want. We met a lovely couple and had a great evening. Some on our table did not interact as much but everyones experience is different I guess. The place became alive when it became darker with twinkly lights everywhere. Even the toilet was full of candles and lights. If you want to buy any more drinks they are expensive just be preparred. The food was good serves on wooden plates, and wooden cutlery, and more of a shared style of passing the food around the table. The evening was followed by marshmallow toasting and tea which we missed as was enjoying the prosecco too much. Think we were the last ones to leave...had so much fun with pictures on the giant deckchair at the end. Luckily we had fantastic weather but can imagine a very different experience if raining.

M W I went there at a late night as there’s no other Chinese is still open at that time, the bad review was putting me off, but obviously I had no option so I went there To my surprise, the food was actually alright, the fried rice was actually quite good, chicken wings was a bit too salty, but other than that, it’s quite nice. so probably will go back again if it’s really late also they take card payment as well which is quite good
