5 /5 Karthikeya Sharma: We were recommended of this place for Nepali food. 4 of us visited for lunch and we were not disappointed! We ordered Veg steamed Momo and Veg Chilli Momo, Waiwai Sadheko, Sel set, Puri Tarkari, Veg fried rice and Dhido Thali. The food was delicious, home cooked style and reasonably priced. For us the Dhido Thali was a surprise find as its a close match to Ragi Mudde of Karnataka. Highly recommend this to anyone missing the Mudde in UK! Will definitely visit again

5 /5 Maia J: Super delicious food at this cosy restaurant with a lively vibe. Its a great place to go if youve got both vegan and meat-eaters - my favourite dish was the puri tarkari. The puri was wonderfully flaky and crispy whilst also being chewy and the curries/sauces were flavoursome and nicely spiced. I also think this place is good value - we bought three dishes and two drinks for around £30. Will definitely be going again!

5 /5 Zhi Yi Wong: Our Nepalese friend recommended this restaurant, and we are very impressed with it. We ordered thukpa (noodle soup) with buffalo meat, steamed momo and sel roti with spiced potatoes. The food presentation was simple, but they feel very homey, and they are delicious. The momos are freshly made when ordered, hence take a while to arrive on the table. The staff was very friendly as well. Strongly recommend this restaurant. Would definitely come back again.

5 /5 Nekhel Sahay: Had an excellent dining experience at Sapana Nepalese Restaurant in Reading city centre. This place truly delivers authentic flavours with great quality and generous portions. The chilli chicken momos were outstanding — perfectly steamed and then tossed in a spicy, flavour-packed sauce with just the right balance of heat and tang. Easily one of the best momos I’ve had in the UK. The parantha and chicken curry combination was comforting and delicious; the curry was rich, well-spiced, and tasted freshly cooked, pairing beautifully with the soft, flaky parantha. We also tried the sel roti, which was spot on — lightly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and wonderfully nostalgic. The samosa chaat was another highlight, loaded with flavour, texture, and a perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy elements. The vegetarian thali deserves a special mention — a wholesome and well-balanced platter with a variety of curries, dal, rice, and sides, all cooked with care and authentic seasoning. Every item on the thali had its own distinct flavour. Service was warm and attentive, the ambience was welcoming, and the location is very convenient in the city centre. If you’re looking for genuine Nepalese food with bold flavours and great hospitality in Reading, Sapana Nepalese Restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
