Tajul Islam Authentic food, wonderfully tasting, with the usual massive Turkish style portions. Id recommend the platter as it comes with an array of meat products to try. The only thing I didnt like - and its the only thing I personally dont like no matter where I go - is the kaburga i.e. the ribs. I am just not a fan of Turkish style ribs so I wont be unfair and say it loses a star for that. However, great place: cant believe Ive never bothered to ever to try it despite walking past it countless times. Would I go again? Well lets just say, at the time of writing this, my stomach is grumbling just thinking about their food. MaĹźa Allah to everyone there.

Billie Walker Wonderful pub in a gorgeous location. It says a lot that so many of the staff have been here so long and are so lovely. Food is always great. I have moved to the other side of London, but there is nowhere like it and I still make a long journey to have dinner or drinks here from to time and it’s very much worth it. Sunday roasts are fantastic, as is the menu the rest of the time. Hidden gem!

AJ R I ordered a massaman beef curry and coconut rice through Just Eat last night. Now, Im a very picky eater, but this is by far the best massaman Ive had since moving to the UK 6 years ago. The beef melts in your mouth and there is so much flavour. I highly recommend. I enjoyed it so much I may get it again for dinner tonight!

The Munch Plug ️ - Tower Hamlets

Lofty Virtues The Munch Plug is the kind of hidden gem that instantly captivates with its unpretentious vibe and indulgent comfort food. The menu is a curated mix of street food classics with a modern twist, each item designed to satisfy cravings at any hour. Food: The highlight of my visit was the Munch Burger, a massive stack of juicy beef, cheese, crispy bacon, and tangy sauce, all sandwiched between perfectly toasted brioche buns. The flavors were well-balanced, with the savory notes of the meat complemented by the slight sweetness of the bun. Every bite was a flavor bomb, but what really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. The loaded fries were another standout — piled high with gooey cheese, jalapeños, and a generous drizzle of spicy mayo. These were not your average fries; they were indulgent, but not overwhelming, offering a perfect crunch to gooey ratio. For a lighter option, I tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap. The chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and the Caesar dressing added just enough tang to make each bite interesting. Ambiance: The vibe at The Munch Plug is casual, with a dash of urban cool. It’s the type of place you’d hit up for a late-night meal or a laid-back dinner with friends. The space is small, but cozy, with hip-hop tracks playing softly in the background and graffiti-inspired decor that adds a street-style charm to the environment. Service: Service was quick and friendly, with the staff clearly passionate about the food they serve. Despite the popularity of the place, orders were prepared promptly, and the staff were more than happy to recommend dishes. Final Thoughts: The Munch Plug is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious, no-frills comfort food. With generous portions, bold flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s easy to see why it has become a local favorite. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or feasting with friends, The Munch Plug delivers every time. Highly recommend if youre a fan of comfort food done right! Rating: 9/10

Asian BridalMUA New spot we came to try! Service was good and food came out looks great! Naga wings were delicious, chips and prawns were tasty. Kids meal was such a great portion and the tenders were Perfectly cooked. Only thing I would say is Mac and cheese was a tad bland. Would come back with the naga wings! Sauce selection is great too!

Kevin Coaker We were wowed by nearby Café Cecilia earlier this year, so were excited to try INIS for our anniversary dinner. For a dark autumn evening, Hackney Wick was surprisingly lively, and the team at INIS kindly found us a spot for a pre-dinner drink when we arrived 45 minutes early. First off, the three staff on duty were absolutely lovely - friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic, with the Irish influence shining through in all the right ways. I had the winter salad, while my wife’s duck starter was just as tempting. My John Dory main was sublime, and the wine list full of interesting options - we chose a lovely Vernaccia from Tuscany. We’re already keen to return to try the Sunday lunch once winter properly sets in.
