4 /5 Lauren Fernandes: Went as a table of 6 with a child. Staff were incredibly welcoming and food was brilliant, reliable Italian. The wine was some of the best I’ve ever had and they had a large vegan menu which was incredibly accommodating. We did ask to order our food with our drinks but were asked to wait which is the only reason it has been marked down to 4 stars. Sometimes you’re on a time limit, especially with a three year old! Otherwise it was a perfect meal!

We love visiting Italy, so when we wanted to have an authentic dining experience, with a friendly, homely atmosphere, but with things done properly, based on reviews, we chose Posillipo! It didn’t disappoint! We really enjoyed ourselves, our food, and our company (staff included!), and came away feeling content and relaxed. Thank you for a lovely evening! We’ll be back next time we’re in Canterbury!

The warm, rustic décor creates a cosy and welcoming atmosphere the moment you step inside, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel very well looked after. The food is the real highlight. The menu offers a great choice of classic Italian dishes, from fresh pasta and perfectly cooked seafood to delicious, wood-fired pizzas. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, full of flavour, and made with excellent ingredients. It’s the kind of place where every dish tastes homemade — but better. Portion sizes are satisfying, and the pricing is reasonable for the quality. Whether you’re out for a relaxed meal, a special evening, or simply craving good Italian food, Posillipo is an excellent choice. Overall, this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Canterbury. Highly recommended for its lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and consistently warm service.
