5 /5 Alyce King: Incredible Sunday Lunch ! You MUST book for Sunday lunch (as walk in spaces rare). Two sittings, arrivals 12-1230pm and 2-230pm I believe. Great use of space for tables. Wheelchair accessible in one part of the restaurant (near back door), but when busy cant get to the toilet. Staff couldnt have been any more welcoming and helpful. Great atmosphere, background music level just right (sat under a speaker). The main issue is parking; the car park is not big enough if the pub is full - eg at Sunday lunchtime. Especially difficult if you are a blue badge holder and need to park close by. Low level lighting so low vision may struggle on certain tables.

5 /5 Christine Southwood: Met friends for Sunday lunch as it was halfway between where we both live and had a lovely Roast we all had something different pork, chicken, beef and nut wellington and we were all very happy. Massive Yorkshire pudding and the veg was lovely as well. Paid extra for the cauliflower cheese which was also lovely. Great service and homely feel to the pub. Parking outside was fine for us and we got spaces. First visit and we would definitely go back and recommend. Tiniest issue was that they ran out of crumble for dessert and seeing other peoples it looked delicious but we were nice and full from the lunch anyway !!!!!

5 /5 Paul Bissell: We popped in for the first time after a cross country walk. We hadnt booked, but we did manage to get a table. We were lucky and Id recommend booking. We were also really lucky because they were starting refurbishment works the following day! Im not sure what it will look like in future, but if they can keep some of the quirky charm of the place, that would be good. The food was excellent. We had to wait a bit, but that was only because it was so busy. We had a couple of pub classics, steak and ale pie and ham egg and chips (see pics). Both were excellent examples. The menu is quite small but good. The specials board then adds some really interesting dishes which, from the ones we saw, looked fantastic. Pricing seemed more than reasonable for the quality of the food and drink and we look forward to seeing the refurbishment when its complete.

5 /5 Victoria Tilstone: We booked the Roebuck for a family meal, Sunday lunchtime. We were a table of 7 and between us, we had roast beef, chicken and pork and a vegetarian nut wellington. Massive homemade Yorkshire pudding!!! The food was piping hot when it arrived, plentiful in size and delicious. We decided we had a small space for a dessert and weren’t disappointed! Despite the pub being fully booked, our service was really good, very attentive staff and no complaints at all. Would highly recommend the pub for food and will be back. Thank you for looking after us.

5 /5 Chris Rose: Don’t hesitate to book this place for a lovely meal, great service and beautifully decorated pub. We had always gone to pubs directly in the town centre, and overlooked coming here, but since the renovations we thought we’d give it a go, and we were really impressed with the quality of the food, prices and friendliness of the team here.
