5 /5 Michael Hontoir: What a great pub! Dog friendly, with many dog patrons!
We revisited today for lunch and had such a wonderful experience, the service was excellent, the food was really tasty, everything was a notch about that you’d expect at a pub, and the speed of service was unexpectedly quick too. Looking forward to returning.
5 /5 Wendy Woo: Just by chance found this lovely gem of a pub, on our way home. Superb food, lovely staff, dog friendly.
5 /5 Angela Barnacle: What an amazing pub! So busy always. They always try and get you a table though. Atmosphere great. Food is absolutely wonderful! Would recommend Sunday roast (very different to find a good Sunday Roast half as good as my husband’s!) as well as any of the pies especially the pheasant pie.
5 /5 Sarah Chan: We had an evening meal at this cosy and vey friendly pub. The menu is extensive and there’s also a specials board. I wish I had gone for the pie as they specialise in these. My friend’s chicken pie was delicious and all meals come with plentiful vegetables or salad. My homemade fish cake was good but lacked seasoning and herbs. Our lemon posset was delicious.
This pub is reasonably priced and portions are generous. There’s no pretentious dish names on the menu. I would thoroughly recommend.
5 /5 Lauren Brewer: Great beer and really good food. Homemade chicken pie and chips was delicious! A lovely stopping point on a beautiful circular walk
Carla Oshaughnessy We held my Sister’s 50th birthday meal /party there last night for 30 of us, we booked the whole restaurant ! The staff couldn’t do enough to help. The meal was amazing, we pre booked and there wasn’t a single issue with the food orders, all came out together and was delicious, the portions are also very generous. The staff all worked really hard. We all had a brilliant evening and my sister had the best 50th. We will def be booking future family parties with The Crown again soon.
David Humphrey My wife and I stayed her for two nights in October. The floor boards were creaky. The floor was not flat. The roof was low in places. The furniture was old and distressed. The stairs were steep. The rooms were quirky. But we loved it ! Great in room breakfast. More than enough. May stay again. Thanks.
Daniel Lane Pub grub at its flavoursome, big-portioned, piping-hot finest. We had a wander round the stones at Avebury and topped up on some spiritualism, and this was the slap up delicious hot dinner we needed to see off the cold December day. Fire was burning, the pub dog was very welcoming, and the staff were lovely. 100% recommend. It even has a book exchange. Top stuff.
Daniel Lane Smashing little cafe. Had a coffee before our walk around the stones and it did the job well. Had some nice ice creams on sale that were particularly tempting but just too cold for me on that chilly December day. Great service.
