5 /5 Jamie: Fantastic venue with open kitchen. Very relaxed but with a premium feel. Food 10/10 with a real walk through the experience - we had the tasting menu. The wine flight was also fantastic and the staff attentive but without being over bearing. Wine knowledge and wine flight 10/10. Would recommend. Wish we had turned up earlier and had a drink in the bar. Would recommend. Will return. If the tasting menu is that good I now want to try the mains and the Sunday roasts!

2 /5 NewYorker13: Honestly, a bit disappointed. We waited an hour to have our food brought out.. and it came out cold… the food was mediocre. I would expect much more from a place that has a rating of 4.8 out of 5. Not worth the money nor is it worth the time. We ordered the steak, mashed potatoes, carrots, cod fish with chips, peas and new potatoes. My daughter couldn’t stomach her plate because the fish was so fishy. In fact, I’ve never ate cod that tastes like the sea lion smell. Not eatable. The steak was mediocre at best. It came with capers.. or so they looked like it because it was really whole peppers?… not sure what it was, but it was not pleasant. Everything that is put on your plate should go along with the dish… this did not. It was like biting into something horrible. Again, I would not recommend this place. Save your money and go elsewhere. The only thing that was somewhat decent was the sour dough bread.. but it also came out cold.. I don’t know about you, but when it’s cold outside, and because of how posh this place is, you’d think they could at least bring out warm bread.

5 /5 Robert Rees: The whole visit was a delight from start to finish. Nunzio is superb - he welcomes & reassures with a smile and great poise & humility. You can’t help but love him. Huw is a polished young man who really knows his wine and helped match the innovative wines perfectly with the dishes. Ben’s cooking is beautiful, artistic & divine yet reassuringly hearty, packed with true Welsh hwyl. The young wait staff are top notch too. As for the ambiance & overall experience, this really is as good as ever and it’s consistent each time I visit. 10/10. It was a privilege to meet Alex the boss for the first time too. Overall a great team effort. And a happy team in that. I just love The Woodspeen. It always delivers. A Big Thanks. Rob
