4 /5 Bernadette Castle: It was my daughters 50th birthday and we had family visiting from Scotland. There was 13 of us. The pub is lovely and the staff are very friendly. I felt confident bringing family to Goffs Manor expecting to have a lovely meal. We were all looking forward to a Sunday Roast, Sadly for the price of our meal it was very, very poor. We spent a lot of money on food and drinks. Everyones food was tepid. (Which we ate as we were starving and i dont think anyone wanted to complain until i brought the subject up at the end.) Each plate had 2 very small roast potatoes, that did not look like they were roasted, 2 small bits of carrots, & parsnips, a few peas, very fatty beef, and a great big Yorkshire pudding that disguised the poor servings. Sadly it was the worst roast dinner I / we have ever had. The waitress was very apologetic and asked if there was anything she could do to rectify but it was too late as my daughter had already paid the bill. Which was a few hundred £s. We just told her to have a word with the Chef. I have worked in catering for many years and took pleasure in making sure my Sunday Roasts were good to eat. If you are charging High prices, Make sure you have high quality food.
