4 /5 Anna Sinclair: Good food with excellent presentation. The tomahawk is served tableside on Mauviel cookware which is a nice touch. The atmosphere is beautifully grand and set in the former archives room of the Old War Office which has since been converted into a tranquil, light and airy restaurant. The sofa seating and armchairs however are far too low and deep therefore it is not appropriate for an extended meal - the restaurant should provide some duck down cushions for such deep-set chairs! Furthermore, the ice cube served with our Negronis were too small which causes spillage - the ice cube should fit the entirety of the glass so that it does not wiggle around after taking a sip and putting the glass back on the table.

1 /5 Hajrah Aziz: I never leave reviews but I feel the need to leave a review on this restaurant because Im really disappointed and still quite heartbroken at my husbands 40th husband being ruined. I chose this hotel and restaurant, known for its location and well known name, thinking my husband would have a great birthday and somewhat be impressed by my choice. Its sad to say neither he was impressed nor me. We took our 3 year old son along and I had told him before hand we would be celebrating daddys birthday at this restaurant so he did expect something related to his birthday when we were there. We opted for the set menu and children menu for our son. Standard burger and chips for the toddler and my husband chose lamb and I chose the monkfish with a side each. We also had a starter before this. It was tasteless, small in size and not impressive at all compared to the cost of it. All we tasted throughout each dish was lemon and olive oil. I ordered a desert and hoped for them to write a happy birthday on to the plate especially because I had put it in the notes prior to making the booking. It was recognised at the reception too. But when it came to deserts, we waited a long time, even ordered tea and nothing. We were then told they had a reservation and we had to leave the table. When we arrived there was 3 tables being served. Within the hour a few more tables had guests. The service was good for the first 40 mins and then we were looking and finding for someone each time we needed something. My son kept asking why they werent doing a happy birthday for daddy and was left quite upset by no mention of it. I had expected more from a restaurant especially when the bill comes to £250.00. I felt I let my husband down for such a special occasion and didnt even arrange a cake for home because I had booked a lovely dinner for him. A dinner which was a disaster. Also to note, a 5 star hotel and restaurant with cracked and damaged tea pots and serve cutlery which has food stains on it.

5 /5 Edris Mahrouei: I’ve been to Saison by Mauro Colagreco twice now, and it’s a great choice for a special occasion. The food is excellent, and prices are reasonable if you’re just going for a main course. However, if you choose to have a three course meal with drinks, it will cost over £100 per person. There’s a great wine selection, which is no surprise given it’s located in a five star hotel. The staff are amazing, we were looked after by a gentleman called Josh, I believe, or Jacob (apologies if it’s incorrect), however he was very attentive throughout. We were celebrating my friend’s birthday, and the team kindly offered a complimentary dessert, which was a lovely touch. Overall, a very positive experience, and I’d definitely recommend it for a special occasion or a business lunch, especially as they offer a lunch set menu.

2 /5 xiyan yang: Beautiful setting and an impressive building — the ambience is undoubtedly one of the restaurant’s strengths. At just over £300 for two with a bottle of wine, the price itself felt reasonable for the venue. Unfortunately, the food and wine service were disappointing. The oysters were excessively salty — not in a clean, mineral way, but simply overwhelming, even with lemon. The sea bass was again far too salty and arrived soft with a noticeable fishy smell. The white wine was also served too warm, the first glass showed no condensation at all, despite there being sufficient time between ordering and service. A lovely space, but the execution does not currently justify the reputation.

2 /5 mw :3: celebrated a good friends birthday over the weekend and honestly the service was sub par. The interior design was beautiful. The best food of the night was the steak tartare, bread, rib eye and pork chops. Everything else was beyond disappointing. firstly the bill was at least £600 while the whole time the waiters were acting like they were sick of us being there even though the restaurant was basically empty on a saturday night. You would think for the amount of money spent there would be someone making sure we’re enjoying our evening.There were no water refills all night and no one came around even once to ask if we were okay, then one woman in particular got upset when we tried to take birthday photos. the risotto had no flavour and was purely cheese so it wasn’t even finished. Considering we paid £102 for 2 plates of lobster pasta you would expect that the lobster is going to be fresh however it was obvious from a mile away that it was probably frozen for ages. The broccoli was served cold and bland and the vinaigrette salad wasn’t even mixed properly. When we asked for the catch of the day the server had no idea and had to ask someone else which I thought to be unprofessional.Why should we be paying a 15% service charge of £87 when there was basically no service at all. Additionally, out of all the high end restaurants i’ve been to never have I ever been billed £35 to eat the cake that we brought into the restaurant. The server brought out the cake and disappeared before we even realised we had no cutlery or plates. Honestly this charge makes no sense because I doubt your dishes are washed by hand and a dishwasher takes literally no time at all. This isn’t some extra service provided it’s part of the job so why should we pay extra. Honestly if you’re coming here the only thing worth it is the aesthetics as the restaurant was beautifully decorated but don’t bother with the mains as half of them were brought out lukewarm/ cold.
