S. A I have heard so much about Shahs and have been meaning to try it for the longest time! It definitely did not disappoint. The chicken was flavourful and well marinated and the lamb was juicy and tasty too. The rice was delicious and the whole combination with all salad and sauces was tasty! The service was brilliant too.

Jacqui Jacs Good African Music. Enjoyable night every time. People are so friendly not to mention their generosity. Good food, reasonably priced alcohol, and you can sit down when your feet are tired.

Ahmed Rahman Had an amazing experience at Enigma in Ilford. The food was absolutely excellent — fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. On top of that, the customer service was outstanding. Rehaan went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and made us feel genuinely welcome. Highly recommend this place for both great food and top-class service. Will definitely be returning!

Imran Zm If you’re around Barking Riverside and spot the Good Meal Jamaican food cart, it’s definitely worth stopping by. Don’t let the simple setup fool you—this place delivers big, authentic Caribbean flavours. The jerk chicken is a standout, grilled to perfection with a smoky kick and just the right level of spice. The curry goat is rich, tender, and full of deep seasoning that tastes like it’s been slow-cooked with care. Served with rice and peas, plus sweet fried plantains, every meal feels hearty and satisfying. What really makes this food cart special is the freshness and speed. Everything is served hot, portions are generous, and the value for money is excellent. The service is friendly and down-to-earth, adding to the overall experience. For a quick, flavour-packed meal on the go, Good Meal’s food cart brings a proper taste of Jamaica right to the streets of Barking Riverside. Definitely one of those local gems you’ll keep coming back to.

Latecarrot Delicious African food and beer. The prices are decent as well. I recommend going on a Friday night, it can get really busy as well so parking can be a bit difficult if you are driving. Can’t wait to go there again

FM-N We discovered Afrikana as its on our local takeout list. The food is always always top notch. So we decided to celebrate a birthday at Afrikana, we had to book by email as we were a larger party (7 people). We then turned up early to boot. But everyone was welcoming and our table was ready for us immediately. We ordered the ‘meat again’ as a shared plate, the ‘just kebabin’ with lamb and ‘we goat your back’ which is a family favourite and so delicious. We also ordered the loaded mac n cheese for the pasta freak in the group (who was also the birthday person). And extra plantain because I love plantain, and hummus which was served with the softest most delicious pita. We also had pretty much one of every mocktail, they were all delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was not too loud, so we could hear eachother and talk comfortably, the food was fresh and tasty. We ate till we almost popped. Shout out for the desserts, we had one of each of those too. They were all a taste sensation. Special thanks to the amazing wait staff, who were friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough, even tho we turned up early with a massive party (really sorry about that). The food was amazing atmosphere was lovely, and all at a very reasonable price. If you’re celebrating or want to eat out somewhere that makes delicious food this is the place for you. Special mention for the Afrikana fries, if you like slightly hot piquant sauce this ones for you
