5 /5 Laura Faint: Thank you to everyone at the Stag that helped plan everything for our fake wedding. It was fabulous from start to finish and a big part of that was the great staff. I’m sure we stressed you out but we had a blast. Great food, great timing, lovely staff. Breakfast was lovely as well. Thank you so much for such a memorable day.

3 /5 Megan Hughes: We went for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent — great value, generous portions, and really tasty. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a perfect touch. The downside was where we were seated, right by the back door. There was a wedding group leaving and lots of people going in and out to the garden, so the door kept opening constantly. We asked to move but were told they were fully booked, even though plenty of tables were empty. The staff didn’t seem too interested in finding a solution. By the end, no apology or offer to make up for it, just a shrug. The place also feels a bit different now —big TVs, casual uniforms, and background music that doesn’t really fit with the country-style decor. The food is still great, but the atmosphere has lost some of its charm.

3 /5 Steph H: This was a last minute quick find after driving quite a distance. The place itself is fine, nice decor, but it did seem a bit confused as to what clientele it was catering for. There was a cosy pub section at the front and a dining room area at the back. However there were big tv screens showing football in there as well as an absolutely awful duo playing. Not sure why the tvs and "band" werent in the more pub/bar area. We thought we were walking in to a Karaoke night, but it was two people who were trying to sing and really werent very good at all. Fortunately we only had to suffer through a couple of songs waiting for our food and then they took a break. We were able to skarff down our food and pay before they came back. The food itself was fine, perfectly tasty and cooked fine, but everything seemed a bit confused. I ordered the butterfly chicken with camembert, caramelised onion and a salad and chips. The salad seemed to be having an identity crisis as it had spinach leaves and lettuce leaves, cherry tomatoes and sundried tomatoes and olives and gherkins. And there was way too much caramelised onion on the chicken. The chips were excellent. My friend had the Turkish flatbread and she said there was way too much chilli jam and tsatsiki on there. By the looks of it this place used to have a more gastro pub quality and then someone has come along and is trying to cater for all pub styles.

5 /5 B A: thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. the skin on both were very nice & crisp. Chicken burger, steak and calamari. Mash and sausages were not quite there but the deserts were equally delicious. relaxed atmosphere. loved the idea in the desert to have an edible tiny pot with chocolate sauce. The tiny pot had a caramel taste.

3 /5 Orlando Gouveia: Soup was amazing. But the rest of the food was not really nice. My steak i asked for medium but was well done. The juice from the steak just gone fries was overcooked. Lasagne was burn on the sides. And kids bolognese they send tomato sauce on it no bolognese at all.
