Dama de Elche -

Rating: 4.6 /5
Shiv The best restaurant experience I’ve had in Wanstead, hands down. We came to Dama de Elche as a family to celebrate Father’s Day and it was a lovely evening. My grandad goes here every other week with his friends, but this time he brought all of us along. Now I get why he keeps coming back. George, the owner, made us feel like family. He brought out extra dishes just for us to try, didn’t charge for some either, simply because he wanted us to enjoy ourselves. That kind of generosity is rare. And it made the whole evening feel personal and genuine. The food? Unreal. Highly recommend the chicken livers and sizzling prawns. Both full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Every dish was amazing. The staff were brilliant too. Friendly, attentive, and always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back. And if you’re in Wanstead, this is the spot. One of those places that leaves a memory, not just a meal.
the pearsons arms

The Pearsons Arms - Kent

Rating: 4.1 /5
Giles Polglase I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pearsons Arms in Whitstable, and honestly, it’s exactly what you want from a seaside pub. While the exterior might look unassuming, stepping inside is like getting a warm hug. It instantly feels welcoming, especially on a chilly day, thanks to that lovely open fire crackling away in the hearth. When I visited it was very busy, and there was nowhere to sit which was a pity. What I particularly appreciate is that The Pearson’s Arms operates as a genuine free house. This means they aren’t tied to one single brewery, and it shows in their selection. The range of real ales, local Kentish brews, and fine wines on offer is genuinely impressive and clearly curated with care. Its fantastic to have such freedom of choice when youre looking for the perfect accompaniment to the sea air. I went for lunch, opting for a seasonal seafood dish, which was clearly made with locally-sourced ingredients and expertly cooked. The upstairs dining area, with its fantastic views over the bay, gives it a gastro-pub feel, while the bar downstairs retains that proper, cozy English pub charm. Now, a crucial tip: if you plan on visiting for their renowned Sunday roast or just a weekend meal, booking a table is absolutely advisable. I saw just how busy it gets—the place was absolutely packed! Dont risk turning up without a reservation, or youll likely face a long wait. Its a highly popular spot for a very good reason. I’m already planning my next trip back; it’s a perfect slice of Kentish coastal hospitality.

S A Was passing through Slough and visited this place on a recommendation! Was not disappointed! The guvnor was there and was very friendly along with his staff. They made us feel comfortable and the atmosphere along with the general decor was very nice and clean. He treated us to a load of complimentary wings (buffalo and standard) which was very generous. Both variants were fresh and tasted great as were the accompanied sauces. After asking us what we liked, he suggested the smokester burger which we both had as a meal. The burger was made fresh. The meat tasted fresh and was nice and juicy. The ingredients all worked well together and it was a very decent burger, that I would have again and again. The fries were fantastic! The pricing was fantastic... most places in London would charge double this amount so great value. Kudos to the bossman and his people for a lovely meal and a very enjoyable experience. If your passing by and want a nice munch you should go there and judge for yourself.

Mark Vernon Really nice food in very reasonable portions. Chicken balls were schmaltzy and identifiably chicken not reconstituted. Sauces were great especially honey and chilli crispy beef.

Cho Phyuaye We had a wonderful dining experience at Mezbaan! The interior decor is stunning, and my young daughter absolutely loved the ambiance. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Lamb Biryani – it was flavorful and the meat was perfectly tender. Its a great spot for families. Highly recommended
